How to Make Traditional and Delicious Zarda
Zarda is a traditional sweet dish, which people eat on many different occasions or serve as a dessert in the end of meal, Zarda can be made in many different ways.
Zarda is not only rice, colored yellow and added sugar, they taste totally different, and the garnishing is very must when Zarda is to be made, you can add anything sweet on the top for garnishing and taste as well.
INGREDIENTS:
- Rice (Soaked)- 2 Cups
- Sugar- 1 Cup
- Dried Whole Milk- 250 Grams
- Compote- 100 Grams
- Clarified Butter- 6 Table-Spoon
- Cinnamon- 2-3 Sticks
- Cloves- 4-5
- Yellow Food Coloring- 1 Pinch
- Screw-pine- Few Drops
- Dried Fruit- As Required
- Put a Cup of water in a pot and add 1 Cup sugar to it. Cook it on High flame for 5-7 Minutes to make sugar syrup.
- Heat clarified butter in a separate bowl, now add cinnamon and cloves to it. When it starts to give a fragrance, add rice that has been soaked for at least 2 hours, and equal amount of water.
- Cover the pot with a lid. When rice starts to dry, add sugar syrup and half the dried whole milk. Add half the compote and a few drops of screw-pine to the rice. Cover the pot with a lid.
- Now add Food coloring when the sugar syrup starts to dry, and keep rice cooking under lid for more 10 minutes.
- Take Zarda out in a dish; garnish with remaining Dried whole milk, compote and Dried Fruits before serving.
